I highly recommend buying and using Cleanwise Odor Neutralizing Hand Soap! I keep a dispenser by the kitchen sink at all times - as it is very effective at removing cooking odors from my hands after cutting onions, chopping garlic, etc.
However, the best testimonial I can give doesn’t relate to its use in the kitchen. My dog cornered a skunk in our backyard and took a DIRECT HIT from the skunk spray. I washed her with dog shampoo, purchased a product specifically for skunk odor removal, and even tried a couple of DIY methods I found on YouTube -- all to no avail. I finally put her in the shower and lathered her up from head to toe with Cleanwise Odor Neutralizing Hand Soap. It worked like a charm! No more skunk odor!
